Meeta Thareja

Co-founder


Meeta brings decades of international experience helping organisations engage better with customers, improve service and grow. Meeta’s area of expertise is business strategy, growth mapping, service and organisation development and human-centred design. She brings a wealth of experience of working with public, private and third sector organisations to build strategies for growth that provide a logical link to customer needs and in developing new approaches to income generation and funding and grants management. Her expertise is in supporting organisations plan and implement growth to make their business plans real. Projects she has led have helped customers deliver 48% – 116% income growth.

Meeta also brings a strong track record of leading engagement with Boards, staff, customers and stakeholders to bring greater participation and the all-important buy-in for new approaches to growth.

Suzie Campbell

Co-founder


Suzie brings substantial experience in business and strategic planning honed over 20 years, helping organisations in the public and private sectors to grow and flourish. She has a strong track record creating business models with a solid financial underpinning that stand the test of reality, working with non-finance managers and directors to grow income and instil a more commercial mindset. Her expertise is in organisational modelling to create structures and funding models that support growth. She has supported organisations of varying sizes and sectors in creating simple but effective and successful Run-Deliver-Grow structures to support growth and improve service impact for users.

Suzie’s expertise has allowed MetaValue’s customers to take on commercial management of growth opportunities and reduce their reliance on consultants or complex finance solutions. Suzie is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Selena Bolingbroke

Associate Director – Public Sector Enterprise


Selena has 20 years’ experience working across both higher and further education and local and central government. She has championed the employability and enterprise agenda throughout her career, having worked with Vice-Chancellors and College Principals, chief executives of local authorities, health and police authorities, housing developers, development corporations, senior civil servants as well as provided direct support to three government ministers on Thames Gateway skills issues. The focus of Selena’s work in government has largely been around the economic and social benefits of skills-led regeneration, leading to a £52m investment in the university sector from a non-education government department.

In a previous role as the Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of East London, Selena led all employability, enterprise and student support activity for the University. She established the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Entrepreneurship in 2010.

Selena is Chair of the Corporation at Barking & Dagenham College and led the governance team through a successful Ofsted inspection in 2013 with a grade 1 award for Governance & Leadership. She is also an Editorial Board member for Wonkhe – a higher education policy blog and Chair of the Cyclopark Trust Board, the largest cycling park in Europe.

Mark Sherwood-Edwards

Associate Director – Legal and Governance


Mark is governance and legal expert with a wealth of experience in complex, multi-customer IT and outsourcing transformation deals. He distinguishes himself from other lawyers by his ability to talk (and write) plain English, and for his ability to cut through complexity and keep things simple. His expertise lies in creating commercial frameworks that deliver the right outcome for the customer, whether through outsourcing, JVs, shared services or other innovative routes. In his career, Mark has pioneered a number of innovative deal structures, including a reverse-outsourcing structure for the NHS that helped eliminate £30 million of pension risk.

He is married with three children. He likes to read, cycle and, whilst not fully a keep-fit fanatic, is not far off one.

Hugh Morris

Associate Director – Private Sector Transformation


Hugh brings over 30 years’ leadership experience in consulting, outsourcing and IT in the financial services, business/professional services and technology sectors. He has worked in large UK-based and global businesses across Europe, the US and Asia as well as in start-up businesses. Hugh is an acknowledged industry subject matter expert in retail, commercial and investment banking, trading exchanges for financial instruments and commodities as well as wholesale and retail general insurance. He brings deep expertise in establishing robust compliance and governance practices in complex change projects in the financial services sector.

Hugh embarked on a career in Management Consulting with Arthur Andersen & Co culminating in the role of Global Managing Partner with Accenture responsible for delivery of £multi-million technology programmes and outsourcing deals. In 2001 he moved to QA plc where he transformed delivery approaches resulting in reduction of operating costs by 25%. Hugh managed the HR Services business for Xchanging, followed by establishing and leading the company’s offshore delivery centres in India. He set up Laureate Legal Services in 2009 to create a BPO platform for law firms. In 2012 he moved to Genpact in a European Financial Services business development role. Most recently he was Sales & Marketing Director for TORI Global. At MetaValue, Hugh’s role is to support transformation programmes for our private sector customers.

Kath Lowey

HR Expert


Kath brings decades of experience in HR across a range of business sectors in the UK and internationally. She has held various senior UK and global HR roles, latterly focussed on the establishment of HR Shared Services and HR transformation projects. This includes roles as Head of HR Service and then Managing Director of an HR Services Outsourcing Business in the UK.

Following a couple of years in Dallas, Texas as North America HR Lead and Head of Global HR Services, Kath returned to the UK and has since worked on transformation projects, executive search and selection; talent identification and has supported the delivery of public sector change projects with MetaValue. With extensive experience in TUPE and pension transfers, Kath is a strategic thinker, with the ability to set direction and then disseminate this into clear operational deliverables. Kath possesses exceptional relations management skills, with the ability to identify and engage cross businesses to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Kath is also An Aspire Foundation Mentor and fellow of the RSA. In her spare time, Kath likes to scale mountains, run marathons, ski and bike. She has climbed Kilimanjaro and has just completed a two week dog sledding expedition to the Arctic Circle.

Tam Johnston

People Expert


Tam is a people expert helping companies unlock potential through addressing cultural barriers to change. Through individual coaching, group workshops and putting in place frameworks that foster a high-performance culture, Tam helps individuals, teams and companies transform and meet their potential.

A is a qualified NLP Trainer and Master Practitioner, Tam has worked with customers in a range of sectors – creative arts professionals, small business owners, public sector workers, doctors, nurses and IT professionals to name a few. She has studied with some of the best trainers in the world such as the co-founders of NLP, Dr John Grinder and Richard Bandler. Tam passionately believes in the highest standards of care and delivery to her customers and recognises the importance of her own development to enable this. She has used and experienced the powerful transformations in her personal and professional life first-hand inspiring her to share these easy, life changing skills to help others.

Prior to re-discovering her purpose in Coaching and NLP, Tam has 18 years’ experience in Nursing, Training and Management Leadership, previously working as a Nurse Manager and Matron of a busy London Emergency Department and as an Independent Nurse Practitioner and professional trainer.

Tom Evans

Programme Manager


Tom is an experienced Programme Manager specialising in Business Transformation. He has over 15 years’ expertise in large and complex global programmes and projects in both the UK and overseas delivering efficiency, service and regulatory performance improvements to business operations through an appropriate focus on process, technology, people and tools.

He has a proven record of successfully defining and delivering solutions in Insurance, Financial Services and Business Process Outsourcing environments including Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and the London Market. He has led implementation and transition projects and plans for several Public Sector change projects

A broad understanding of business operations and an attention to detail supports Tom’s innate interest and ability to rapidly identify and understand the ‘real’ issues, define appropriate solutions and implement these in a pragmatic yet robust manner.

Prof Patrick McGhee

Board Adviser


Professor Patrick McGhee is a Chartered Health Psychologist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a UK National Teaching Fellow and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has a First Class Honours Degree from the University of Glasgow and a doctorate from Oxford University. He has completed CPD programmes in Executive Leadership at Ashridge and at Harvard Business School. He also has a Certificate in International Auditing from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Following an initial period working in the NHS as a Research Fellow in Psychiatry and Psychology, he has been Dean, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor at some of the largest and most socially diverse universities in the UK. He is a well-known advocate for inclusive and progressive higher education, an occasional newspaper columnist and regular social media commentator. Amongst a range of non-executive and Trustee roles, he has been Chair of Westlakes Research Ltd, President and Chair of the Board of Million+, the Higher Education Think Tank, a Member of Universities UK…Main Board and International Committee; a Member of the HE Advisory Panel to the Sector Skills Council for Lifelong Learning and a Member of the Further Education and Skills Ministerial Advisory Panel. He was a Member of Teaching Quality Student Experience Board of the HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) and Chair of the HEFCE Teaching Funding Advisory Committee. He has given evidence to HE Commissions and to the Lords EU Select Committee on Social Policy and Consumer Protection. He has been involved in developing international partnerships over the last 20 years in Brazil, India, Russia, China, Malaysia, Japan, Brussels/EU, USA, Mexico and Morocco amongst others. He is the author of many academic articles, chapters, books and edited collections, including The Academic Quality Handbook. London: Kogan Page and Thinking Psychologically, London: Macmillan Press/Palgrave. He has been listed in Who’s Who since 2011 and his interests include chess (ex-Scottish U21 international), country walks, classical music and football. He is currently Assistant Vice-Chancellor, University of Bolton.

Chris Hayes

Policy & Research Expert


Chris has several years of experience working in the public and non-profit sector, with a particular passion for evidence-led policy and decision making. Most recently, he has been helping the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) brief – and give a voice to – the local government sector on policy changes affecting community sport and leisure, and services for young people. Chris previously worked in local government. He project managed the implementation of a savings scheme for Surrey’s children in care, one of the first of its kind in the country.

At MetaValue Chris supports the research requirements of our projects to ensure that solutions are informed by the voice of the customer and a robust evidence base. Chris also helps run a social enterprise that provides public speaking and leadership training to individuals. Chris founded, and continues to co-ordinate, the ‘Happy Hour’ campaign, a grassroots movement to raise awareness about the social and economic benefits of moving the clocks forward an hour throughout the year. In his spare time he likes to play tennis, cycle, watch most sports, and enjoy London.‎

Rachel Jones

Arts & Culture Expert


Rachel is the Chief Executive of Arts & Business (A&B) Cymru, a charity and membership organisation which specialises in promoting and enabling mutually beneficial partnerships between business and the arts across Wales.

Rachel’s highly developed communication skills, her genuine interest in helping people succeed and her passion for the arts have made a significant contribution to the reputation, credibility and network A&B Cymru has established across Wales.

Hailing from Neath in South Wales, Rachel is a music graduate of Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. She worked for Artistic Management Agency, Van Walsum before returning to Wales. Rachel joined A&B Cymru in 1996 as its administrator and became its Wales Director in 1999. In 2011, she led the process of separation from the A&B UK body, establishing A&B Cymru as an independent Welsh charity. Rachel is now the organisation’s Chief Executive.
Rachel has held board and advisory positions with a range of arts organisations including The Aloud Charity, Live Music Now and Promo Cymru. In 2015 she was the co-founder of The Nature Foundation, a conservation charity which she now chairs.

Arun Kumar

Associate


Arun has over 15 years of experience deploying processes that simplify complexity and allow organisations to innovate and flourish. He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, an experienced coach and mentor to senior leadership teams in private sector and not-for profit sector. He is an expert in quality standards such as ISO9001:2008 and EFQM. He was previously Head of Process and Quality at Xchanging HR Services and Procurement businesses. He also led the development of Six Sigma process initiative at Tata Motors in India.

At MetaValue, Arun’s role is design process and improvement initiatives that allow our customers to deliver effective service in the most efficient ways i.e. the interactions between Service and Production. Arun’s expertise is in deploying quality and excellence standards across organisations in simple yet effective ways that engage teams and inspire action across all levels of the organisation.

Arun holds a Masters degree in Statistics from the University of Delhi and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, UK.
